My yoga journey began in 1984 when I started practicing. In 2000 I completed an AYS (Association Of Yoga Studies) Introductory course as I was keen to deepen my understanding of yoga. Being a single mum, with my own business, I found that yoga was such a strong support for me and helped me get through many incredibly challenging times in my life. I knew I wanted to share this with others but it took a while for me to believe I could make a career out of it. Meanwhile I kept practicing and studying through retreats, courses etc. and was blessed with wonderful teachers .
In 2005 I went onto complete an AYS Foundation Course. Between 2006 and 2008 I studied a BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) Teacher Diploma.
In 2006 I am at last sharing Yoga (as well as running another business). Now I am blessed with students who teach me as well as teachers. Yoga is a never-ending journey that offers so many solutions to the problems of today, even though it is ancient, it is still so relevant in today's world.
In 2007 I began to run Yoga retreats for individuals and small groups as well as classes and 1 to 1's. In 2011 I completed a Diploma in NLP(Neuro Linguistic Programming)
Between 2012 and 2014 I achieved level 1 and 2 Usui Reiki and Reiki Master.
By 2014 I developed the confidence to give up my other business and trust the skills I had learnt thus far to concentrate solely on Aruna Yoga retreats and therapies. Although I have a depth of Yoga knowledge and experience I am keen to continue learning and have more recently studied a 2 year course in AIT (Art of Individual Therapy) Yoga Therapy and FCTT level 1 (Foundation Course Tutor Training) with BWY.
