At Awelfan Karen runs regular Yoga courses suitable for everyone. These are small Yoga groups to ensure personal attention in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Using breath and movement to achieve and maintain flexibility, quietness of mind and a feeling of harmony and well-being. Using many Yoga techniques Karen aims to bring about awareness, improved posture and balance along with greater enjoyment of everyday living.

Located between St Davids and Fishguard, in the centre of the village of Square and Compass with its local pub and shop. Patio doors lead into the open plan lounge/bedroom. Comfortably furnished throughout, the kitchen/diner opens on to your own paved patio and small garden area, cleverly screened with mature plants, where you can enjoy an alfresco meal, or why not work up an appetite in the lovely, shared and heated indoor pool. This self catering cottage is conveniently located, it is an ideal base for couples to explore from with the popular village of Trefin, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and stunning coastal bays of Aberfelin, Abercastle and Porthgain all within a couple of miles.
I began my Yoga yourney in 1980. I qualified as a BWY teacher in 2006. I have been running Aruna School of Yoga teaching classes and retreats ever since.
My main interest is in Vini Yoga, in which I first studied an introductory course with Mike Young. I later completed a foundation course with Ranju Roy before gaining a diploma with BWY with Faye Beddowes. I have also done several retreats, workshops and studies with Ranju Roy, Mike Young, Paul Harvey, Peter Hersnack, Dave Charlton and my teacher Yvonne Summons, all of whom I am forever grateful to.
I see Yoga as an holistic way of living and I love the fact that I can continuously learn,discover and develop through my own practice, study with my teachers and indeed I learn so much from my students.
Vini means suitable application. I adapt the Yoga to suit the needs of each individual. I would describe the style as meditative, focused, involving the breath and mindfulness throughout the practice. It also incorporates all aspects of Yoga, giving many tools and techniques to deepen awareness of ourselves on many levels and therefore become more understanding of others.
I am a native of Pembrokeshire with local knowledge of places, people and events.
I predominantly eat vegetarian food though have experience of catering for different tastes as I ran a healthy eating café for 3 years and a guest house for 6.
We are neutral to all beliefs, religions and spiritualties.
